Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one person within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse, partner, or other family member.
Civil Protection Orders
In Ohio, a civil or criminal protection order is a court order directing a person to do or not do certain things. Generally, a civil protection order includes an order directing an individual not to have contact with and to stay away from another person and may include other orders relevant to parenting any children the parties may have together.
